A phone quote can tell you a likely range for a broken spring, a slipped cable, or an opener that needs replacing, but it can't tell you the exact number until someone's hands are on the door. Track that's bent instead of just misaligned, a panel with hidden rust under the paint, or an opener with a wiring fault instead of a simple sensor issue - those all change the price once we're actually looking at them, not before.
We don't take on full structural garage conversions or new construction installs as part of a repair call, and we won't quote a job sight unseen if the door's damage sounds more serious than a part swap - a door that's come off its track entirely, for instance, usually needs an in-person look before we'll put a number on it. If a repair is going to cost close to what a new door runs, we'll tell you that too, rather than patch something that's going to fail again in a year.
